Everton Summer Camp is full steam ahead in 2008!!

Are you looking for an exciting way to spend a week during the summer holidays? Are you looking for a way to really cap off an excellent Cub or Scout year? Then camp Everton is the place to do it!

We offer 2 Cub Camps for the summer of 2008:

  • Cub Camp: July 13 - 18, 2008 - Note: This Camp is now full - new registrations will not be accepted.
  • ACE Cub Camp: July 20 - 25, 2008 - Note: This Camp is now full - new registrations will not be accepted.
We also offer 2 Scout Camps for the summer of 2008:
  • Scout Camp Camping - July 26 - August 1, 2008
  • Scout Camp Hiking - July 26 - August 1, 2008

What is Camp Everton?

Camp Everton is a warm Scouting environment in which Cubs and Scouts can grow and develop using both the skills that they bring to camp and the skills they will learn at camp. Situated along the beautiful Eramosa River, on approximately 185 acres, Camp Everton is filled with breath-taking scenery, small limestone caves and majestic cliffs. Camp Everton is safe and clean, meeting all regulatory requirements. It provides an excellent place for Cubs and Scouts to enjoy a week of their summer vacation.

Camp Everton is staffed by qualified personnel and provides activities such as archery, swimming, crafts, wood lore and badge work.

Who May Come To Cub Camps?

Cub Camp is open to all Cubs. Leaders are encouraged to organize a week camp and attend with their pack or sixes. Qualified counsellors are also provided to assist packs who do not have sufficient leadership. We also form composite sixes for cubs who are attending without their own leadership. These sixes are under the supervision of Counsellors.

ACE Camp (Advanced Cubbing Experience) is open to Cubs who have just moved up to Scouts or will be moving to Scouts in the fall. This is a dynamic and unique experience that will prepare the Cubs for the challenges that they will meet in Scouts. ACE Campers will use the Cub Barn as the main facility but will also stay in tents and Adirondacks for part of the week. They will be introduced to scouting skills such as outdoor cooking.

Camp Everton is a fully equipped facility with washrooms, full kitchen and sleeping quarters. The main lodge, affectionately termed "The Cub Barn" is a fully converted barn that provides a wonderfully rustic and unique experience for any Cub.

Price

Cubs are $225
There is no cost for Leaders who attend the camp with their groups.

Cub Camp Registration Forms

Note: The summer Cub Camp is now full - new registrations will not be accepted.

Please complete the following forms when registering for Cub Camp:

  1. Camp registration form and packing list (30 Kb PDF)
  2. Youth Program Participant Enrolment form OR get a copy from your child's Cub Leader or Group completed for current year's registration
  3. Parent/Guardian Consent Form for Category Three Activities
  4. Cheque(s) payable to "Scouts Canada"
All registration forms, along with a $50 deposit payable to "Scouts Canada" must be sent in by Wednesday April 30th, 2008. The remaining $175 must be sent in by Friday May 16th, 2008. All registration forms and cheques can be sent to the Camp Director at:

  • Scout Camp Hiking - July 26 - August 1, 2008

Who May Come To Scout Camps?

The Summer Scout Camps are open registered members in the Scout Section. It is recommended that the scout has completed his or her first year in the Scout Section. It is advised that Cubs who have just made a year end move to Scouts should attend the ACE Camp. For the Hiking Section a Scout must have completed the second year in the scouting program.

Prices

The fee for Everton Scout Camp is $260.
